HORIZONTAL DIRECTIONAL DRILL (HDD)

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is a trenchless construction method used to install underground cables, ducts, and pipelines with minimal surface disruption. This method is commonly utilized for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) power cable installations and telecommunication infrastructure works, particularly in areas where conventional open-cut excavation is impractical or may cause significant disruption to traffic, utilities, or the environment.

Scope of Works:

Site survey and utility detection.
HDD pilot drilling along the approved alignment.
Reaming and bore enlargement to the required diameter.
Installation of HDPE ducts, conduits, or cable protection pipes.
Pullback of TNB power cables, telecommunication ducts, or fiber optic conduits.
Backfilling and reinstatement of entry and exit pits.
Testing, commissioning, and as-built documentation.
